Tell Us About Your Experience With The Academies Leadership Coaching Program
Before joining the Academies, my only formal development experience came through my employer’s leadership training. I had never taken a coaching course, and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Now, I can confidently say that the growth I’ve experienced in confidence, leadership, resilience, and coaching skills has far exceeded what I imagined—and I feel like I’m only just getting started.
The Academies have fostered an environment where honesty, candor, curiosity, and feedback are not only welcomed but encouraged. Both staff and students have created a space where it’s okay not to get everything “just right,” and that safety has been invaluable. Each day, through reflection, practice, and applying what I’ve learned, I continue to grow and take meaningful steps to increase my impact.
How Has Coaching Influenced You?
Coaching has been transformative for me, primarily through the lens of empowerment—both for myself and others. It has helped me build confidence, unlock potential, and develop new skills, while also teaching me the importance of honoring diverse perspectives. Coaching, at its core, has been a journey of self-discovery, supported by meaningful dialogue in a psychologically safe space.
How Does Neuroscience Influence Your Coaching Style?
As a Sales Leader, I’m responsible for driving business growth while also supporting the development of my team. I often joke that during challenging moments, a degree in psychology might have been more useful than a degree in business. What I’ve come to realize is how powerful neuroscience-based coaching can be.
Understanding how the brain functions—and how it shapes our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and decisions—is incredibly impactful. Concepts like neuroplasticity show us that the brain can adapt and form new neural pathways, giving people the ability to change patterns and unlock new possibilities. Simply put, when people understand how their brain works, growth and transformation feel much more attainable
What’s A Memorable Win You’d Like To share?
What stands out most from my time with the Academies are the people I’ve learned alongside. My classmates have come from such diverse backgrounds—C-Suite executives, business partners in Fortune 500 companies, professionals transitioning into coaching practices, and individuals focused on personal growth. Each person brought unique insights, and I’ve learned something valuable from everyone. My hope is that I’ve contributed positively to their journeys as well.
Would You Recommend Our Programs To Others?
Absolutely, without hesitation! Whether you’re an experienced coach, aspiring to become one, or simply looking to grow your self-coaching skills, the Academies offer an incredible place to start and grow.
What Have Clients Said About Your Coaching?
One client once told me, “Thank you for guiding me today, you always get me to the other side!” To which I responded, “Thank you for allowing me to walk with you on this part of your journey.”
If there is anything else you would like to share, please feel free
One of the most unexpected areas of growth for me has been in my role as a parent of teenagers. Through these courses, I’ve learned to apply coaching concepts at home in meaningful ways. I was recently asked to reflect on when I felt most powerful, and I realized it was during moments with my children.
These were emotionally charged situations where advice would not have helped. Instead, I offered presence, silence, and a safe space where they could simply be, feel, and process without judgment. That experience taught me the true value of one of the ICF core competencies, “maintaining presence”, and reminded me how deeply coaching principles can apply to all areas of life.
