The Academies Private Cohorts

Our private, closed cohorts offer teams a chance to:

Accreditation
ICF Approval: All of our courses are approved by the International Coach Federation (ICF) as a part of The Academies’ Level 1 and Level 2 Programs. See below for the number of hours in each course.
Private Cohort Offerings
The Academies offers private cohorts for organizations who would like to create a team-building experience for their teams, add the coach approach to their strategy, and create shared language among employees through ICF-approved coaching education courses.
- Private Cohorts require a minimum of 6 participants from your organization. If you don’t have enough, you are welcome to team up with another department within or outside of your organization
- If you have more than 10 participants, we add a second instructor for extra support and learning opportunities
- Conversations in class can focus on common pain points, challenges, and intentions for your organization
- Our team conducts pre-, mid-, and post-course touchpoints to receive your feedback and make customizations to the live classroom experience
- Our brain-friendly approach encourages higher levels of learning and retention and is rooted in the latest neuroscience research, ensuring that you will receive novel, relevant coaching education
Certified Executive & Leadership Development Coach Course
Our Certified Executive & Leadership Development Coach Course will equip your team with effective communication tools, a clear understanding of the ICF Competencies, practical application of coaching skills to real-life leadership scenarios, and mindsets around growth and change (for themselves, their team and clients).
ICF Accreditation: This 33.5-hour course of Core Competency Training is approved by the International Coach Federation (ICF) as a part of The Academies’ Level 1 and Level 2 Programs, and includes 4 group mentor coaching sessions. This course results in a Certification from The Academies.
The Academies is committed to ensuring the private cohort experience is highly relevant to your team. To support this relevance, we provide pre-, mid-, and post-course checkpoints as well as a flexible classroom experience to align the learning experience around the goals and needs of your team. If you have fewer than 8 participants, you may be able to partner with another organization or department to meet the minimum participant requirement.

Certified MBA | University | Grad School Career Coach Course
Our MBA | University | Graduate School career course is designed to support university career services professionals in using a coach-approach in their work with MBA, specialty masters, working professional, and undergrad business programs so they can:
- be free from the pressure to have all the answers and empower students to take ownership of their careers
- help students pursue career goals that are in sync with their strengths, passions, purpose, and values
- respond to student’s hesitations and mindset derailers
- have neuroscience-based tools to support curiosity, collaboration, and connection in students

Career Coaching Fundamentals
If you’re hoping to introduce your team or members of your team to the fundamentals of coaching, this is a great place to start. It will provide participants with the most crucial information for adding the coach-approach to their career services role. This course introduces the International Coaching Federation’s Core Coaching Competencies and results in a Certificate of Completion from The Academies.
ICF Accreditation: This 15-hour ICF-approved course introduces the International Coaching Federation’s Core Coaching Competencies and results in a Certificate of Completion from The Academies.

Coaching with a Neuroscience Focus

Logistics
Technology
All classes are offered in a distance learning format using the platform Zoom.
Learning Platform
The learning platform provides access to modules, forums, class recordings, coaching demo recordings, featured resources, and class announcements.
Certification Requirements
Completion Requirements vary between courses. Please visit the course pages for more information.
If the completion requirements are not met, participants will not receive the full certification. However, they may be eligible for a Certificate of Completion stating the number of hours completed.
Language
All courses and programs are offered in English.

Policies and Procedures
Attendance Policy
Participants are expected to attend all class sessions within their course. However, we know that emergencies and unavoidable conflicts can arise, and our attendance policy allows one missed class in light of that.
ATTENDANCE MODIFICATION SESSIONS:
Should a participant miss more than one class throughout the course, a live attendance modification will be required to receive full credit for the course. These sessions require an additional charge and will be scheduled after the conclusion of live classes.
Payment
Payment is required prior to the start of the private cohort. However, we recognize that every organization is different. If you would like to begin as soon as possible, a purchase order number is required prior to the start of the course.
Withdrawal
If withdrawing a participant prior to the start of the course, your invoice will be adjusted to reflect the correct amount.
If the participant’s withdrawal drops your number of participants below 8 total participants, no adjustments will be made to the invoice – the total amount for 8 participants is still owed.
No refund will be issued for any withdrawals after the start of the course.
Removal
To maintain an open and safe learning environment, The Academies reserves the right to not accept and/or dis-enroll a student from courses for any reason. In this case, no refunds will be issued.
