Tell Us About Your Experience With The Academies Leadership Coaching Program

I was working freelance as a communication and soft skills trainer in Mexico when I began to research the benefits of coaching for my clients. I noticed that despite their success, many of them still felt stuck – held back by self-doubt and imposter feelings. I wondered if coaching would support them to unlock their potential in ways that training hadn’t.

I stumbled across The Academies while researching coaching schools, and was drawn to their neuroscience-based, brain-friendly approach because my daughter is neurodiverse.

I gingerly signed up for the Level 1 course, thinking it would perhaps add some depth to my communications training and consulting. What I didn’t expect is that it would not only transform my career but my perspectives of learning, growth and human potential. I quickly committed to the full Level 2 program, and am now an ICF ACC-accredited coach. As I add more client hours, I hope to be PCC-accredited in the near future.

How Has Coaching Influenced You?

I’ll answer this question through the lens of my clients – and how coaching has influenced them. Coaching has empowered them to lead their teams authentically, compassionately, and courageously. To build their self-belief and lean into their strengths. To free themselves from imposter feelings and to fully enjoy and embrace their professional lives. I see them at peace with themselves and hopeful for what is ahead.

How Does Neuroscience Influence Your Coaching Style?

In every way! Concepts such as neuroplasticity, cognitive distortions, emotion regulation, and meaning-making support my clients to tackle the internal barriers that stop them from moving forward. I am convinced that this inside-out approach cultivates long-lasting and meaningful change.

What’s A Memorable Win You’d Like To share?

When the penny drops. When a client shares an insight, pauses, looks at you in surprise and you witness their “a-ha” moment – a moment in time when you see the weight they’d been carrying melt away and the future possibilities this brings them. Those moments are magical.

Would You Recommend Our Programs To Others?

Absolutely. The trainers provide a safe space to experiment, question, challenge, grow and make mistakes. The entire Academies team are committed to excellence in their course delivery. I feel very lucky indeed that I stumbled across them.

What Have Clients Said About Your Coaching?

I still regularly struggle with Imposter Syndrome, so this is an uncomfortable one! Here is an extract from an email I recently received from an ex-client.

“… I think of you a lot and the respect I have for how you sustain processes with strength and presence. That’s also why I made the time to write today – because I saw your recent post (on LinkedIn) and thought ‘She has even more value than she realizes.’”
