Tristan completed the Certified Executive Leadership Development Coach (CELDC) and Certified Leadership Engagement & Impact Coach (CLEIC) Courses in order to qualify for his ACC. Tell Us About Your Experience With The Academies Coaching Program
My experience with The Academies was fantastic. I enjoyed the smaller classes and felt that my instruction from Carissa Gay and Susan Britton really prepared me well for the ICF certification process. I’m keeping in touch with a number of people from my classes and am excited to pursue coaching further.
To think of where I was at the beginning of my courses versus now is a huge jump — I learned a tremendous amount about patience, active listening, and what the dance of working with a client one-on-one entails.
How Has Coaching Influenced You?
I started my own coaching business, which meant a huge shift in my life. I’m currently back to working a 9-5 job in addition to the coaching, but the experience was invaluable. I wouldn’t have gotten my other job without my coaching experience.
How Does Neuroscience Influence Your Coaching Style?
I incorporate a lot of the neuroscience training that The Academies taught me into my regular coaching sessions. I’ve found clients are really receptive to learning the science behind a lot of their decision-making skills and it certainly has influence over the line of questioning I use.
Can You Share Any Memorable Coaching Moments and/or Wins?
Aside from actually getting my certification, I’ll always remember the first class and just how bad I was at coaching, compared to the last class and to see how far I’d come.
Would You Recommend Our Coaching Programs to Others?
I learned a ton and met some interesting and fun people along the way. It was overall a life-changing experience, so yes! Absolutely.
